Bob Dylan was a ‘Special Guest’ at Farm Aid last night, playing an excellent three songs set with The Dirty Knobs (Mike Campbell, Steve Ferrone, Lance Morrison, and Chris Holt) plus Benmont Tench on keyboard.
Dylan played guitar at center stage, occasionally on a stool, for the three song set:
Maggie’s Farm (First Play since 2009)
Positively Fourth Street (First Play since 2013)
Ballad Of A Thin Man (First Play Since 2019)
All three were clear, well played and sung, and generally excellent. We got live Bob, 3 songs not from the recent setlist, Dylan on guitar, a new band, and a big surprise.
